MRO Network

ABOUT THE MUBADALA AEROSPACE MRO NETWORK

A solid MRO network is one of the main facets of the aerospace industry that Mubadala Aerospace aims to build. In line with its greater vision to contribute to the aerospace sector for Abu Dhabi, Mubadala Aerospace is creating a network of companies, which include a full spectrum of aerospace products and services.

A significant part of Mubadala Aerospace's growing MRO network, ADAT has recently engaged in many business ventures driving growth for itself, Mubadala Aerospace, and the aerospace industry for Abu Dhabi. ADAT is recognized as the Middle East's largest independent aviation technical solutions provider and has a comprehensive set of airframe, engine and component MRO capabilities.

ADAT has recently launched its state-of-the-art Hangar 6 which covers 46,200 square meters with special design features and a unique design concept. The hangar’s flexible work concept design means that ADAT is able to service a wide variety of aircraft, including new generation aircraft such as the B787 and the A380 airliner. The Hangar 6 allows the MRO provider to service and house up to three A380-800 aircraft at any one time.

SR Technics brings 80 years of experience to Mubadala Aerospace. As an integral part of the global MRO network, which is being developed by Mubadala Aerospace, SR Technics is a full-service provider of MRO for aircraft, component, and engine services. This is coupled with extensive engineering know-how, broad technical training offerings, and VIP completion services. The Zurich-based company is one of the largest independent providers of technical aircraft services in the world. Its main maintenance facilities in Zurich and Malta, are further supported through a large European network of line stations as well as logistics centers at London Heathrow and Zurich.

Working closely together with their diversified global customer base of flagship and low cost carriers, leasing companies, and OEMs, SR Technics and ADAT develop innovative maintenance solutions that reduce ground time and maintenance costs. This is demonstrated through the development of an equalized maintenance concept for the Airbus A32fam by SR Technics, reducing ground time from 20 to 14 days and the reduction of CFM56 engine turnaround times from 60 to 45 days.

As part of the companies’ strategy to secure OEM partnerships to support customer business, SR Technics and ADAT have signed a contract with GE, to become the fulfillment center in Europe, Middle East and Africa for CFM56-5C engines. As further support on the B787, Hamilton Sundstrand has recently authorized Mubadala Aerospace for servicing its products and providing MRO services on the Dreamliner.

n a move to expand outside of the commercial MRO sector, SR Technics also opened its VIP Completions Center in Zurich, in 2011. The first contract for VIP interior completion was signed in May, encompassing design and engineering including handmade interiors, in addition to providing maintenance services. The VIP Airbus conversion contract entails the reconfiguration from a conventional airliner set-up into a modern aircraft interior with tailor-made elements.
